Weekly Adventure Path
Four goals a week, worth account XP, built from things you were already going to do. Claim them as they land; nothing expires angrily.
Collect hobbies. Build a life with texture.
Pick one of 111 real-world hobbies, capture it with one small quest, and let it level up from the practice you were going to do anyway. The app always has one clear next move, and it never punishes you for the week you skipped.
Free to start, no card. iPhone only. 69 hobbies before Pro.
HobbyDex is a hobby tracker and habit app for real-life interests. Browse a Dex of 111 hobbies across six habitats, capture the ones you actually try, and grow each one through short quests you finish in the world rather than in an app. Everything you capture stays in your collection: levels, titles, evolutions, and a timeline of the moments that got you there.
HobbyDex borrows the rhythm of a collection game and strips it down for real life. No streak to protect, no guilt for the quiet week. Just one clear next step whenever you open it.
Browse 111 hobbies across six habitats. Mark the ones worth a second look on the Research Board and they follow you home.
A short capture quest turns a vague interest into one concrete thing you did. The hobby joins your Dex the moment you finish it.
Each hobby has an ordered path of about twenty quests. Photo, checkbox, or a written note — six traits grow with every one you clear.
Three evolutions per hobby, each with a title worth earning. The third is mastery, and it stays in your Dex for good.
The app was rebuilt around a single question: what is the most useful thing to do right now? Home answers it with one recommendation. A hobby answers it with one quest and one button. Everything else steps back.
Open a hobby and you get its identity, one progress graphic, the quest it thinks you should do next, and the full path underneath. One sticky action at the bottom, in orange, and nothing else competing for the tap.
A checkbox for the ones you just do, a photo for the ones you make, a written note for the ones worth remembering. Nothing takes longer to log than it took to do.
Quests carry a YouTube recommendation for the moment the instruction isn't enough, so the next step is never a search you have to run yourself.
Six habitats, 111 specimens, each with its own quest path and three evolutions. Captured ones live in your Dex; wild ones wait for the week you finally make time. Seasonal Picks pull together a timely shortlist when you want the app to point first.
The Dex is home base. Captured specimens light up; wild ones sit in outline until the week you go get them. Every habitat tracks its own progress, so the next hobby to chase is always one tap away — and search, sort, and Research controls sit right above the results instead of behind a menu.
A daily Insight that reads your last two weeks, a Journey that remembers them, and six traits that quietly record the shape of what you keep coming back to.
Each morning HobbyDex reads what you actually did — which hobbies moved, which went quiet, how the last stretch compares to the one before it — and writes a short card about it. It names one hobby worth trying next and says why, with two alternates if the first one doesn't land. Save the good ones; skip the rest. History keeps every card you kept.
Every hobby keeps a Journey: the captures, the quests, the evolutions, in the order they happened, with the photos and notes you attached at the time. Field Notes let you add the moments the quests missed — the first loaf that worked, the trail you'd do again — and each one is worth 25 XP.
Journey is a Pro feature. Field Notes are free.
Four goals a week, worth account XP, built from things you were already going to do. Claim them as they land; nothing expires angrily.
Creativity, Focus, Vitality, Curiosity, Craft, Connection. Every quest feeds one, so the shape of your collection shows up without you tracking anything.
English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, German, Chinese, and Hindi. Hobby names, quests, titles, and Insights all follow the language you pick.
Daily check-ins are opt-in and silent. There is no streak to lose, no notification that says you're falling behind, and the review prompt only appears after something actually went well.
The Research Board is where an idea lives before it becomes a quest. Tag a hobby, drag it into the order you'd actually try things, and let your Daily Insight tune itself to what's on your radar. A compact rail on Home keeps the shortlist one tap from wherever you are.
Prime Target ("on my radar now"), In Research ("gathering ideas"), Backlog ("interesting, not next"). One tag at a time, no system to maintain.
Long-press to pick a card up and drop it where it belongs. Promote something the moment it clicks; demote it without a confirmation lecture.
What you're researching shapes tomorrow's recommendation. Curiosity in, coaching out — and the board never leaves your account.
One tab holds all of it: friends you added by code, a leaderboard you can sit out of, and a feed of what everyone else is capturing right now. None of it pings you, and none of it is a streak.
Every account gets a short friend code. Share yours or enter theirs — there is no user search, so nobody finds you by accident. Friends see each other's card and Field Team even when you're hidden from the leaderboard.
Captures, completed quests, and evolutions from players everywhere. Filter it down to friends, or hide anonymous players. There's no text to write, so there's nothing to moderate and nothing to perform.
Hide from the leaderboard entirely and keep playing. Sign in with Apple and Hide My Email work end to end. You decide how visible to be, and you can change it later.
Equip up to five captured hobbies as a visible roster. Each contributes power from its trait points, and Team Strength rolls them together on your profile card.
Account points come from capturing, levelling, and evolving — not from opening the app daily. Glance at the ranking when you want; ignore it the rest of the time.
Start with 69 hobbies and the first evolution of each. Go Pro when you want the full Dex, all three evolutions, the Journey timeline, and your Insight without watching an ad for it.
Billed by Apple. Pricing may vary by region. Cancel anytime in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
Progress syncs so a new phone rebuilds your collection. The photos and notes you attach to a quest stay on the phone that took them.
Sign in on any device and your Dex, levels, quests, Research Board, and settings rebuild from your account.
Your sketches, hikes, and loaves are saved on your phone, not in your cloud account. A second device shows a placeholder instead.
Daily cards are built from a high-level summary of your progress — never from your photos or written notes.
Both are supported end to end, and you can stay anonymous on the leaderboard while you use them.
Signing out or switching accounts clears the local account cache before the next account loads.
